YOUTH RED CROSS
The Government Degree College, Uravakonda has a Youth Red Cross maintain by Zoology Department. It works to create humanitarian and social responsibility, leadership qualities, health consciousness of individuals and communities, disaster preparedness in young minds. It regularly conducts awareness programmes, campaigns, Rallies, Blood Donations Camps, Blood Grouping, Vaccination drives, disaster management workshops. The College Youth Red Cross Cell did MOU with Indian Red Cross Society, Anantapuramu District branch. It also collaborates with healthcare institutions, government agencies, and NGOs to coordinate efforts to create awareness among students and communities.
Objectives:
Humanitarian Service:YRC aims to promote the spirit of humanitarianism among young people, encouraging them to actively engage in community service and alleviate human suffering.
Health and Well-Being:It focuses on improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities by organizing blood donation drives, health camps, and awareness programs.
Disaster Preparedness: YRC educates youth about disaster preparedness and response, empowering them to assist during emergencies and disasters.
Leadership and Character Development:YRC seeks to develop leadership skills, empathy, and a sense of responsibility among youth through various activities and training programs.
