The Department of Botany was established in this prestigious institution in the year 2016 with Zoology and Chemistry as other electives of the program, B.Z.C. with a sanctioned strength of 40 students.  This program was offered in Telugu medium in the beginning and it is offered in English medium from the academic year 2021-2022.Regular faculty was appointed in 2016.
