Among the colleges affiliated to Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, the Department of Economics, Government Degree College, Uravakonda offers all required facilities to support teaching and research in Economics. Interdisciplinary connections with the Environmental Studies Program and other departments allow students to apply their social sciences foundation to other disciplines. Interactions with local community organizations related to Banks, industries and sustainable agriculture provide our students even more opportunities for hands-on experience in Economics. Our graduates have gone on to careers in teaching, research, Business, and agriculture. The Department of Economics is exploring the possibility of credit accumulation to earn the degree at one’s own pace incorporating skill-based education under CBCS, realizing the need for accommodating slow learners the high achievements in the academic programs.
